Brisbane

In unseren letzten Ferien waren wir in Australien. Zuerst ging es nach Brisbane. Brisbane ist eine richtig schöne Stadt und steht jetzt auch auf der Liste meiner Lieblingsstätde. Unser Hostel war ziemlich Zentral und so entschieden wir uns am Abend noch Brisbane zu erkunden. Die Stadt sieht mit den ganzen Beleuchtungen bei Nacht besonders schön aus. Das Riesenrad hat mich an das London Eye erinnert und die Brücke an die Brooklin Bridge. Der Stadtteil "South Bank" ist richtig schön. Dort steht auch das Brisbane Schild, das in verschiedenen Farben beleuchtet ist. Außerdem gibt es dort einige Restaurants, viele sind direkt an der Wasserfront oder man kann sich das Essen holen und dort hin setzten. In dem Bezirk haben wir auch einen Nachtmarkt gefunden, der sehr schöne Dinge hatte. An der Promenade gibt es eine Badelagune mit einem künstlichen Strand. Das ist ziemlich cool, da es im Brisbane keinen richtigen Strand gibt.

In our last holidays we went to Australia. Our first Stop was Brisbane. Brisbane is a beautiful city and it is added to my favorite cities around the world. We had an hostel pretty much in the central and so we decided at the first evening to take a look at the city. The city has a beautiful skyline which looks at night especially pretty. It has an ferris wheel which brings me the London Eye in mind and it has a bridge which looks similar to the Brooklin Bridge. The part "South Bank" is very pretty. There is the big Brisbane sign which is lit up in different colors and a lot of restaurants. There a lot of places where you can eat directly on the waterfront. We found a night market with pretty cool stuff as well. On the waterfront is a swimming lagoon with an artificial beach. That is quite cool because there is no actual beach in Brisbane.

Am nächsten Tag haben wir unseren Campervan (den wir liebevoll Freddy genannt haben) von Jucy abgeholt und sind damit zur Koalastation Lone Pine gefahren. Dort gab es so viele süße Koalas und ich konnte sogar einen streicheln. Es gab auch noch ein großes Känguru Gehege. Wir haben Futter für die Kängurus gekauft und konnten sie somit füttern. Es gab aber auch noch andere Tiere. Wir haben zum Beispiel eine Schaf-Scheren-Show gesehen, die ziemlich interessant war. Danach sind wir wieder in die Stadt gefahren, um die Stadt nochmal tagsüber zu sehen. Wir sind zum Känguru Punkt gegangen, bei dem man Felsen klettern machen kann und wir sind den Fluss entlang gelaufen. Am Abend haben wir dann Brisbane verlassen, um einen Platz zum Schlafen zu finden.

On the next day we picked up our campervan (Freddy) from the Jucy office and drove to Lone Pine which is a koala sanctuary. There were a lot of cute koalas and I could touch one. There was a big kangaroo compound as well. We bought some kangaroo food and so we could feed them. There were some other animals too and we saw a sheep shearing show which was quite interesting. After that we went back to the city to see it in daylight. We went to the Kangaroo Point where one can do climbing and we walked along the river. In the evening we left Brisbane to find a place for the night.

Nach unserer ersten Nacht im Campervan, die ganz gut war, sind wir zu den Glass House Mountains gefahren. Das sollte nur ein kleiner Stopp auf dem Weg nach Noosa werden, aber wir haben dort unfreiwillig den ganzen Tag verbracht. Wir haben am Visitor Center gehalten und also wir dann zu den Bergen fahren wollten, ist unser Auto nicht mehr angesprungen. So kamen wir den Rest des Tages nicht vom Fleck. Zuerst haben wir es mit Starthilfe versucht, aber das hat nicht geklappt. Dann mussten wir auf den Techniker warten, der aber auch nicht wusste woran es liegt. So mussten wir noch ein paar Stunden länger warten, bis der Abschleppwagen gekommen ist. Dieser hat uns dann zu einer Autowerkstatt gefahren. Dort hat es nochmal einige Zeit gebraucht, bis das Problem gelöst war. Die Autowerkstatt hat sogar extra für uns länger auf gehabt, dass wir am selben Tag noch weiter fahren konnten. Das war sehr nett. Als das Auto endlich repariert war, ist die Sonne schon untergegangen und wir sind noch schnell zum Aussichtspunkt gefahren. Es war aber leider schon zu spät und man konnte nicht mehr als ein paar Schatten sehen. Schlussendlich waren wir den ganzen Tag in der Stadt, aber wir haben nicht die Berge gesehen.

After our first night in the campervan - which was quite nice- we drove to the Glass House Mountains. This should only be a short stop on the way to Noosa but it ended to be an involuntary hole day stop. We stopped at the Visitor Center and when we wanted to drive finally to the Mountains our car did not want to start. Basically we were stuck on this car park for the rest of the day. First we tried to jump start the car but it did not work, then we had to wait for the technician. But he did not know what was wrong either.  So we had to wait a couple more hours till the towing service arrived. Then the towing service took us to a garage where it took a few more hours till the problem was solved. The garage stayed open longer because of us that we could go on with our road trip on the same day. That was really nice. When the car was repaired we the sun was already setting and we quickly drove to the view point where we wanted to go but it was already too late. We could not see more than some shadows in the dark. So at the end we spent the hole day in the village Glass House Mountains but did not see the mountains.
